Rain Water Filteration WISY WFF 100 Vortex Fine

Rain Water Filteration WISY WFF 100 Vortex Fine

OPERATING PRINCIPLE AND APPLICATIONS

The vortex fine filter WFF 100 is usually installed below ground in the horizontal rainwater pipe. It filters the rainwater that flows in at the side of the filter unit and releases the filtered rainwater to the storage tank.

Its filter insert is made of a fine stainless-steel mesh with a mesh size of only 0.28 mm. Leaves, moss and other debris entrained in the rainwater are reliably filtered out and flushed away to the soak away or drain. A filter insert with a larger mesh size of 0.44 mm is optionally available. Wall mountings are also available as accessories to install the filter as a free-standing unit.

Rainwater cleansed by this filter is in a perfect condition for tank storage and for subsequent use in the washing machine or for flushing toilets and general household cleaning. It is also ideal for use in sports or equestrian facilities where large playing or riding surfaces need to be irrigated, or where large quantities of soft water are needed for cleaning purposes.

All WISY's vortex fine filters are perfect for filtering process water. They are already successfully deployed in the paper, textile and food industries.

DRAINAGE CAPACITY

The WFF 100 is capable of filtering up to 4.2 litres per second. This corresponds to the drainage volume for a projected roof area of 200 m² (2,153 sq.ft., for typical rainfall levels in Germany).

As with all WISY filters, the cross-sectional area for rainwater flow does not change at any point inside the filter, i.e. to ensure the free flow of water, the cross section is not restricted at any point. There is no risk of blockage even during torrential rainfall events which may flush large quantities of debris into the filter. The vortex fine filter meets the requirements defined by EN 12056 / EN 752 and also conforms to DIN 1989.

ADJUSTABLE OUTLET ANGLE

The filtered water outlet to the storage tank can be turned horizontally at a different angle from the inlet for flexible adaptation of the filter unit to the existing piping at the site of installation.

EXTENSION TUBE

Using the optionally available extension tube, it is even possible to connect the vortex filter to pipes that are installed deep below ground level.

HOUSING WITH VEHICLE-DUTY CAPACITY

Cover and housing of the vortex filter WFF 100 are so rugged in design that it has a vehicle-duty capacity of up to 30 metric tons (vehicles as defined by DIN1072 / SLW30).

OXYGEN ENRICHMENT

The filtering process by the vortex filter produces oxygen-rich water. The high oxygen content further enhances the water quality and inhibits the growth of undesirable anaerobic organisms.

EASY TO MAINTAIN — LOW-MAINTENANCE DESIGN

All WISY filter inserts are designed for very low maintenance. It is virtually impossible for debris or dirt to stick to their smooth, stainless-steel surface. As a result, the filter inserts have a long service life. When necessary, the filter insert can easily be lifted out of the housing by means of the supplied lifting handle for cleaning by a high-pressure cleaner or in the dishwasher.

Explanatory installation scheme of the WISY vortex filter

Suitable For

The WISY Vortex Fine Filter (hereafter referred to as “WFF”) is primarily
designed for installation below ground. However, it is also suitable for
indoor installation.
Please observe the information and warning notices pertaining to indoor installation in the section headed “Indoor installation” in these
instructions.
The best roof areas are pitched roofs of slate, clay tiles, concrete tiles
or membrane and sheet metal roofs.
It must be taken into account that “green roofs” retain rainwater. We
recommend that a pure, mineral-based substrate is installed beneath
the growing medium layer of green roofs connected to a rainwater harvesting system. Substances washed out of roofs covered with bitumen felt can discolor the harvested rainwater. Asbestos-cement roofs are
not suitable and must be decontaminated before a rainwater harvesting system is connected.
